Equal opportunities

No differentiation or distinction is made on the grounds of age, race, colour, religious persuasion, gender, mental or physical disability or sexual orientation. It is expected that all members of the school community, adults and pupils, be treated equally in all areas of school life. All employees and pupils are expected to behave in such a manner that no discrimination, deliberate or unintended, is felt by another. Any behaviour, whether it be verbal, written, physical, psychological or through any form of harassment which is considered to be discriminatory, should be reported to a senior member of staff. The matter will be treated seriously and will be investigated in accordance with the school's disciplinary procedure.
Disability Discrimination
Prospect School is committed to a policy of non-discrimination on grounds of disability. All reasonable steps will be taken to ensure that prospective pupils with disabilities are not discriminated against and that pupils with disabilities in the school are not disadvantaged compared to any other pupil. An assessment will be made prior to admission to ensure that the school can fulfil the range of needs for every individual. Adjustments will be made which are within the capabilities of the school and which do not severely adversely affect the education of other pupils. Any parent/carer/local authority who has a child with a disability who may require a place at Prospect School should contact the Lead Teacher in order to discuss arrangements which might be made with regard to entry procedures and access to the education provided by the school.

Prospect School prides itself on the quality of teaching and pastoral care given to its pupils. It is hoped that most concerns that pupils, parents, carers and/ or social workers have will be resolved outside the complaints procedure. If pupils, parents, carers and/ or social workers should have any queries or concerns they should initially make contact with the Lead Teacher. For more serious complaints please contact the Manager or Proprietor. If anyone has a complaint, they can expect to be treated by the school in accordance with the complaints procedure, a full copy of which is available on request.
