We all do the chores that need doing around the house each day, such as cleaning, tidying and hovering. Most of these things are done in the morning and after each meal. Being in school means you miss out on general things but we still expect you to join in on evenings and weekends.
The staff do all the cooking so the young people tidy up after the meal, it doesn't take that long if everyone chips in. you can help cook if you like too!!!
Washing your clothes
One day of the week you will be given as your ‘washing day.' So you need to sort out all your washing, this will be given to the waking night staff and it all gets washed dried and ironed in the same night. Or you can have ago at doing it yourself!
On an evening the staff check your room is relatively tidy before you go out on an activity and on a Saturday you need to change your bedding, thoroughly clean your room, even under your bed!!! Also on a Saturday you and two other young people are responsible for cleaning the games room (there is a rota in the office wall) All of this is done before you get your pocket money. But when it's done it's done.
